💡 Important Reminders

  • It's okay to use secular resources. While we list Catholic-specific resources, any licensed therapist, support group, or hospital can help you. Don't delay getting help because you can't find a Catholic provider.
  • Insurance and costs: Most therapists accept insurance. Catholic Charities offers sliding scale fees. The 988 Lifeline is always free.
  • Emergency care: If you're in immediate danger, go to your nearest emergency room or call 911. Mental health emergencies are real emergencies.
  • Medication is okay: Taking psychiatric medication is not a lack of faith. It's treating a medical condition, just like taking insulin for diabetes.
  • This takes courage: Reaching out for help is brave, not weak. You're doing the right thing by being here.
